2010 Christmas Blog December

Happy Holidays. We hope this blog post finds you well and you are all enjoying the Holiday season. The Frost's of Vermont are enjoying our Christmas watching a little Celtics and feasting on Christmas cookies and such. We've been fortunate to enjoy visitors this December, Grannie, Pappy and Pop Pop. We also got down to Aunt Betsy's in Peterborough, NH for an early holiday season get together.

As you may have seen we've changed our blog address and put our mass marketing skills to the test with our Christmas card sticker campaign...:) We are hoping for double digit readership growth this year. vAndrew's lighting exploits took a new twist. Some folks put plastic Santas on their lawn, that would be to simple for us. Instead we obtained some leftovers from a friend's garage project and turned them into recycled illumiated Christmas trees. Go green! Hope you enjoy some pictures below. Happy New Year and hope to see you on the blog this year.

2010 November Farm Activities

Hello Followers

Happy thanksgiving and welcome to the holiday season... the frosts where on the move in November spending 7 days in the boston area during thanksgiving with Amma (Andrew's mom) . We enjoyed a few sights including the aquarium and local children's museum. Andrew cought up with a few friends in the area as well.
On a serious note andrew had a heart catherization procedure at Mass General for a narrowed pulmonary artery which was a result of his surgery as a child. The good news is I am feeling great (I was feeling well before) .

Prior to thanksgiving, we had a great visit from lots of relatives for Baby Willa's christening on november 20th. Willa loved it and had a good time catching up with family prior to the thanksgiving visit to boston

Hope you all are doing well.

2010- Fall Farm Activities

Ok..... so I lost track of time and am using my Daylight savings time to get updates to the "followers of Frost"

I hope you are well... The frost farm are doing great... we've enjoyed our fall and watching our kids grow by the day. Fall was full of fun with halloween and harvest festivals.. (Vermont seems to have these things covered) The kids where loving halloween and picked up there own "harvest" of candy.. Andrew's used it a n educational opportunity and had henry categorize and count all his pieces (64 by the way but down from last year's record count of 91) Andrew 's love hate relationship with all things old moved to a new level . The old MG was needing a home and what a better place than an old barn with a sagging floor ... problem solved andrew "jacked" it up and the barn has taken a brief reprieve ..Aimee is the hinesburg nursery school fundraiser chairperson and ran a record campaign as part of the flower power bulb sale.. she organized a community event to plant bulbs throught out town.... .. As of today we are facing a "leaf" crisis as weekend weather has forced a delay to the yearly druggery of raking and putting the leaves to bed... I even bought a blower this year....what to do... We are preparing for the winter with Henry getting his first ski equipment.. and will take lessons... I think that's enough for now enjoy the pictures including a picture of the house from the late 1800's....

We had a blast and so did the kids... The mini van held up well on its second tour and dad even let Aimee drive for a change..Aimee took Henry to a monster truck rally (I am not sure why ) .. Andrew had a 5 day tour of his old stomping grounds in the back bay of boston as part of a business conference.... The month ended with our annual trip to Peterborough for Labor day... This year it was a local'vore delight as Aunt betsy made all farm raised meals (lamb /chicken) plus some farm raised eggs and vegatbles.. damn I feel good.... 2010-July Farm Activities

It was a road trip for the ages... 3 kids... 10 dvd's ... packages of snacks ... juicy cups and 650 miles to go .... to Uncle Bill's wedding in PA ...

We drove... we laughed we had fun .... the best kid of the bunch.... surprise ... it was willa. she would sleep .... and wake up with a smile... the worst.. the soph a loaf was pretty particular regarding her choice of snacks.. movies and sippie cups... actually the trip got off to a bit of a rough start as we decided to augment the minivan with the thule box on top... transfering wasn't so easy and in the middle of it our windshield from the other car got busted up by a errant rock... ugh glass everywhere a bit of a set back... ... once we got to uncle bob's we enjoyed a couple days with cousin tracey, her husband jeremy and there kids. Uncle bob and aunt irene where great hosts even giving us there bedroom for our party of five... once we made it to PA the week flew buy as we got ready for uncle bill's wedding and enjoyed being with pappi and granny Henry the alleged ring bearer did bear a cute tux but alas couldn't stomach the walk up the aisle. he did however end up flirting with bridesmaids with his camera skills and then on the dance floor with his famous "donkey kick" signature move . I wonder if this is a sign of things to come... sophie made it to the wedding and also made her self known with a couple of antics and some very cute dance moves... Upon our return aimee went back to work 3 days a week as the family tried to get back to normal.. is it ever normal...

the rest of july was pretty low key as we relaxed a bit on the weekends and henry hit a few birthday parties....
We also had a visit from mom and her friend mary Jean flynn... Mary Jean was instrumental in bringing us new names for people and kids... (luu luu and doodles) we had fun as we ran around burlington and the champlain valley searching for antiques for henry (also known as antique model cars)

The other big news was andrew's tractor... unfortunately his 3 year old sears model didn't past muster (its engine conked out) so .. it was off to get a john deere cuz as they say nothing runs like a deere.. the new model is a big upgrade and I am now mowing in style ...

2010 - Apr- Special Blog Update

I know most of you wait religiously to the end of the month to get the previous month's update but this one was so important we are doing a SP (special post) ..... Our 3rd child arrived on monday April 5th at 4:48 pm ... Willa Lucy Frost weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz and 20.5 inches.. She is doing great and is keeping us up ... I think we forgot about late nights as well as the labor thing... Incidently, while I am probably going to get in trouble for this... from my vantage point it looked pretty easy... 4 pushes and willa came out .... anyhow it was a trouble free labor which of course is a good thing... We've posted some pictures...you'll see she has lighter hair which is a first for a frost- hildabrand baby... Fortunately, Jaque and Ted have been up since easter and have been a great help in taking care of Henry and Sophie ... Henry and sophie are excited about baby and are helping out where they can...

Lookout for spring we are getting excited to be outside with our new family member ..

2010 March Farm Activities

Well march was in like a lamb and out like a lamb... temps in the 70's hope you in the northeast enjoyed the weather... we did .. its getting green
This year's sap quantity was a bit smaller and we only made 8oz of the vermont gold... We did however get more at vermont's maple open house and we visited a couple of new sites...
The big event for the this month was henry's 4th birday in which we had 10 kids and 12 adults.
There are good choices and bad choices for a child's birthday celebration.. while henry loved his batman theme which included cake, capes made from granny, scavenger hunt and batman movie.. what wasn't a good choice was Dad's choice to dress up as batman's enemy penguin . The problem was penguin scared a number of the kids including our sophie...the parents I think where a bit scared as well ... the idea sounded so good ..... you be the judge

We are counting down to b3 .. due date is april 5th... we will keep you posted...

2010 January Activities

The first month of the year in the books.. We've made it through one of the biggest snow storms ever... It snowed for a week and we had 3 feet of snow in early jan ... since then barely any... its feb 14th and we've got just a little.... none the less no skiing this year so far... Aimee is plumping up nicely (insert comment here) as we get ready for b-3 ... we don't know the gender... I am betting a girl... others say boy... one of us will be right.
Andrew's started his new job and has been traveling a bit to boston , baltimore and CA Sanfran speaking the GE Marketing message to anyone who will listen...
We celebrated Aimee's birthday by going for a week to Punta canta dominican republic... it was a great week of relaxing while the kids got to know there grandparents in PA even better (Thanks papi and granny for watching and having the courage to bring the kids to chucky cheese !!!)
We are getting sophie into her new room with new bedding and accessories... She is going to love it !!!!
Sophie turned 2 and had a puppy party with some friends... Mommi made "puppy"cup cakes which martha stewart would die for . (Actually they did come from her cookbook which I surmise was made while martha had some time in jail )
