2014 Late Fall Frosty Family Posts

Its late fall the leaves are gone... the cold is starting, and I am mulling around watching "henry danger" on nickelodeon with my kids..
time for a blog.... we had a record candy collection at  Halloween this year hitting not 1 but 2 neighborhoods around Hinesburg... The take over 90 pieces of candy per kid... the most popular this year "reeses" and "m+m's". This year aimee went old school and made outfits with for the girls. The result a Mama Fox (Aimee of course) a baby fox (sophie) and owl (willa) .Henry was a store bought "darth vader" ( I can't believe star wars is STILL so popular with kids)... and I was "walter white in  his meth lab outfit " from the series breaking bad .. (in somewhat bad taste for a kids neighborhood)

For my birthday this year myself and the kids made a quick  trip to Amma's . We made it to a cool lego art work display and then some great porkchops and noodle pudding. (my favorite.) I also made it  a out for dinner with aimee  and of  course  round (s) of golf... I scored my low rround of the year with Uncle Kev hitting a 79 at stowe...  I also hosted my third annual "MARN" party with 10 guys from around town.. This year's highlight some home brew  from local brewmaster brett... what a birthday week!!!

the kids also got themselves ready for ski season by testing out their equipment..
I've also started back on my Yoga exercise hitting the local studio and doing some public postures at local pumpkin sale for charity...

As for the frosty updates..

2014 Summer Frosty Family Blog

Yes its official seasonal blogs rock... well I am finally back after a summer of fun at the frosty farm...
We rocked it out as usual.. this summer started off with a massive sports month of june which included little league for henry ,  camps of soccer for Sophie and Henry and carnival camp for Will at HNS.

.
After camps we had a Frosty Family reunion at my niece Alyssa's .. highschool graduation in Niskayuna NY ... She is headed to Amma's almamater Bates next year.. The frost clan enjoyed a great day together eating, hiking and then eating again!!!

Then it was off to an action pack week in Longisland over the 4th.. WE had not one but two families visit us with old friends the milners from NYC as well as our Hinesburg friends the Goldsmiths. There wasn't' a quiet moment but we all had a blast. Of course there was the pie and this year we had multiple meals with Clams from the creek.... on the 4th we had for the first time a fire as a one day hurricane(or the remains of one) blow through so there was a chill which the fire helped remove..  check out the pics

After we got back more camps for everyone including art and nature camp for sophie and golf camp for henry..
We then did something unthinkable.. instead of our annual camp out we went camping to lake bosomeen in VT as a family. WE had a great time at this mid vt state park home of one the largest slate producing mines in VT.  We just missed the rain on the last morning..phew!!!

Once august hit we started work on the latest farm project:  We started to  redo  the only room  we hadn't renovated since we moved in : the living room Its sept and we arent done but its coming out awesome We added some salvaged antique mantle's and lights as well as vt marble.. Can't wait till its done.. Does this mean we are done fixing up the house.. ... ummm not a chance..

August also had a visit from Mom with her friend Flora.. We showed them the best vt has to offer the shelburne museum and a local farmers market... latter in August we hit Story Land and Santa's village with our Friends the Mcnabbs.. WE had a great time as usual but I think its on to disney for us.. we'lll see

Late august we did another camp out with some of Andrew's old college friends...at Camp Wofburt as in brentwood nh.. . It was great to catch up... wow its been 25 hrs since college..I think I am getting old...
Henry then had one final camp.. it was called Camp Grannie.. We flew him solo to PA From boston...

He did great... Grannie and Pappi spoiled him for a week and then he returned for the start of school and labor day !!!
Henry and Sophie started 3rd and 1st and Willa is in her last year of HNS .pre school...
Wow that's a lot for the summer...

Oh yeah and I played golf as usual treating myself to some new clubs as my 15 year olds had become ancient!!!

2014 Spring Frosty Family Blog

so.. I  think the posts are now becoming very seasonal.. I realize it makes it less frequent but I think more interesting to the readers to see a "seasonal" update... less is better right or is that more is better... I don't know.. so when I left you last I was writing my new chapter...
well here it is.. I was fortunate to get a job relatively quickly with an old company GE did work with.. Emdeon.. they are in the Healthcare IT space and make healthcare  better  !!! (I  know most healthcare it companies say the same thing but ) The good news is I can work right out of the house .. So to accommodate this I've fixed up the "nook" with an old school teacher desk some children's painting.. and a few of my old office gadgets from previous gigs... Now the hard part how do you do it with 3 kids and a wife home two days a week. not so easy but we are managing and I 've got a remote emdeon office near by which they let use....
enough about me for now.. so what else are we up to.. well we had a great april vacation.. Aimee took the kids to PA and visited museums ,hit a pirates game and had fun with Granny and Papi... she did this by herself and drove back and forth .. she is a trooper.. where was I you ask. Well Amma had her 75 birthday so her kids (myself, mark and betsy) took her to NY for the weekend and saw the Metropolitan opera, NY museum of art.& some great restaurants.... I was fortunate to have my friend Nat loan me his apt for the weekend as well as treat us to a great brunch at his restaurant Elizabeths.. it was a treat to and great to be in NY .. What a city..
After we all got back I headed back to work for emdeon and our spring began in earnest with constant kid activities..

Henry is doing double duty with both baseball and soccer . Its about 5 days a week of activities and on some days twice.. I think I may have overbooked him.. Henry also celebrated his 1st communion and we where fortunate to have Papi and Granny come to watch..

Sophie is doing horseback riding and is reading like crazy..Willa has been doing soccer. She also celebrated her 4th birthday .. As usual Aimee hit it out of the park with a awesome my little pony cake and activities galore...

ON memorial day we packed up the mini van and headed to Boston to see Amma .. We where able to see a great science museum in Manchester and enjoy a dinner in Andover with Betsy and the rest of the morison's

that's it for now.. I am planning some exciting projects for the farm... so stay tuned for "summer " updates

2014 Feb-March Frosty Family Blog

hello Faithfull readers.. its been a long two months as we finally have outlasted winter here in Vermont.. Can you believe temps are in the 40's  and snow is a meltin and the sap is a runnin.... that means spring !! and a dawn of new happenings..
before we talk about that lets recap the last two months..

winter came and stayed for a while... we took advantage of the cold and snowy conditions and hit the slopes with family , more family and a few friends. It started with the valentine's day storm  Uncle mark , Aunt pang , Christopher and Alyssa came for a 3 day visit to Bolton and Jay Peak. We had great time hitting the slopes and enjoying some family time... Next came a tiny warm up and then Aunt Betsy, Uncle Andrew, Charlotte and Nathaniel for a 3 day visit where we skied Sugarbush .. Unfortunately Uncle Andrew in an desperate act of bravery to save henry's ski pole caught his finger in the chair . one dislocation of pinky and . an emergency procedure latter and he was good as new. .. although betsy and Andrew seemed to be complaining of sore backs and knees... I am worried about them..
In between we also had my friend Paulie (see last feb's blog for more info on him) along with his son soren... We enjoyed a visit along with a renewal of our 5 guys night at Uncle Kev's house..  the high light... an international bubble hockey tourney where Switzerland took on Russia in the finale...not without controversy as the Russian goalie had a slight modification to the plastic puck deflector behind him.. the match is still under protest...
March came in like a lion and stayed leaving us with the coldest ... yes coldest march on record. On march 12th we had one of the largest snowstorms in March history .. over 20 inches.. what to do.. well ski some more.. which I did... hitting Bolton up for more and more.. runs.. I also caught sugarbush for a couple more visits and finally got uncle kevin out on the slopes..
Henry celebrated his 8th birthday in march with a couple of his closest friends and an Lego Movie event including movie passes, tour, pizza and cup cakes.. a "legendary" birthday for sure.. (see how I met your mother's last show this year) ...Aimee the super cake maker didn't get involved on this one but she did make a Minecraft cake for the cub scouts charity cake auction  .. this cake incidentally made over 75 dollars as myself and another participant got into a intense bidding war for the "best cake of the auction".. Aimee is the Frost family  "cake boss".. don't mess with her .. Next up .. Willy's fourth birthday although she did promise me she would stay 3 this year... I am afraid she may be just being nice to dada.. but I can hope...

Later in march we also visited aunt betsy for her birthday and some sap sipping.. after a couple of years ,finally uncle Andrew is getting the hang of it and his syrup is actually close to Vermont's quality
so.. I  said there was some new happenings... well it turns out my cgi experiment was just that.. unfortunately CGI's  contract with Vermont was terminated  and I am now in search of new opportunities .... in the mean time I have hit the slopes with a vengeance and start to write my next chapter in life...
hope you all are well.. come for a visit ,, stay a while...
enjoy Vermont
