Well its been a while... and you are desperate of news from the north.. Lets start with the most common of my updates.. our weather...
Its been snowy/cold and then snow /cold. .. the winter of our discontent . and the ides of march are now upon us...
Having said that I'll just say we've survived and thrived.. (hows that for cliché )
Since our last post we've enjoyed a great holiday season... We kicked it off with doing a special Tree cutting event at the Russel farm.. This involved a sleigh ride,, cutting a tree and then hot chocolate in a mountain cabin.. What a fun time!!
The next highlight was having our first holiday cocktail party with over 40 guests.. It was the place to be in Hinesburg..as our party included a guess singer and a pianist who helped us sing Christmas carols for a while. we partied till mid night at least !!!.
. Christmas we where joined by Ted and Jackie (grannie and pappy) for a week xmas festivities. Aimee's brother Adam and cousin Gisele also came for a bit .. . This year it was warm as our early season snow melted most away.. never fear in January it came back and then some.. the kids as usual enjoyed the presents and everything Santa had to offer
Our new years this year we took the kids to first night and watched some great dancing and fireworks followed by chinesefood. We did not make it till midnight but our kids did !!
Following new years we renewed our Downtown Abbey love and went to the premiere of season 5 with our friends the goldsmiths.. Jim and I dawned matching bow ties and we enjoyed the newest season and dancing with the party..
January was spent watching snow flakes, skiing ( I got new skis this year after 12 years !!),Pinewood derby (henry's car black dragon made it to the next round and had the best tires !!) and the Patriots march to their super bowl victory... What a game.. Henry and I had a fantasy team together and enjoyed watching our team and the patriots win. Henry however has now become addicted to madam mobile..and has been driving me crazy with question on players on ANY team in the nfl..
We also said good bye to our 2002 Volvo wagon its time had come.. With a bit of angst and a dose of practicality we bought... wait for it... a new Honda CRV . Its my first brand new car ever having had as many European cars as I can remember...
January also had our first birthday's with Sophie and Aimee celebrating their 7th and 29th (:) birthday's . Sophie 's birthday featured 8 girls on a run away sleigh ride as the winter farm experience turned harrowing as the horses needed to run ... Everyone was ok. fortunately, For Aimee's birthday we all went to the newest VT sensation. (Skateland) that's right back to the future roller skating followed by Japanese hibachi dinner...
February we had some visitors from NY as Aimee's friends from NY (Henry's god parents) Kelly and Tom came for a visit with their daughter katelin . We also caught up with Aunt Betsy at Jay peak for a day of water and skiing. Henry and I skied the best Jay had and Aimee and the kids hit the water. If your every up there it is a blast..
Andrew's work has me traveling again hitting the warm weather spots of florida , California and Nashville. It was nice to get on the road again..
Well that's about it for now.. Looking forward to spring here...
