2012 November Farm Activities

Hello Frosty Followers,

November was a month to remember.. although not for the reasons we traditionally think.  I  had open  heart surgery to repair some issues associated with my surgery as a child.  The Nov 2nd surgery at Boston Mass General was successful.  Since the surgery I have been recovering with the help of family and friends. The good news is we expect a full recovery.  I am back to work remotely and looking forward to the holiday and ski season.

However, they say that seeing is believing... so if your interested check  out this youtube video starring me and directed by Aimee.  I am alive and well.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW8fO2QV4w0&feature=youtu.be

Thanks again to all the folks who sent cards, gifts and meals.. We appreciate your kindness and support.

Other updates for November include some great pictures of Henry and Sophie from a birthday party and the annual trip to Andover for Thanksgiving.  I didn't run in the turkey trot but my kids did and I had the most amazing Dad moment..  I am watching some kid streaming down the kids fun race.  I look over at Aimee and say "Who is that kid, he's flying!".  Turns out it was Henry who won in stride...Henry will now be known as Henry the "Bolt"  Frost.  Sophie also did great but was slowed down by faulty footwear (she wore Uggs, dad forgot her sneakers).  Willa ran too holding Aimee's hand.
With all the rest time, we even where able to get ahead in our holiday planning, blowing out the Internet on Cyber Monday and getting a Christmas tree on December 1st!

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving.  We have a lot to be thankful for.  Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

2012 October Farm Activities

I am hoping this post finds you well. The frosty family had a great fall this year.. We're busy in the school year and Henry and Sophie have had activities gallore. Henry's and sophie continued with their soccer and  dance class.. this is the definite saturday activity...  Henry also made  his first par at the links a lang farm on an 80 yd par 3.. He wacked it up on the green and had a two put from 15 ft..
I am not sure who was more excited Dad or Henry...You guess. Andrew also celebrated his 44th birthday and had some local guy friends over to open the new "MARN- Man Barn" . You see this is what every guy needs a partially delapidated old barn with a big upstairs and of course "beer pong" table.. We had a fun time..

.  Halloweeen was a bit shorter this year as we had less "candy" capture events and our totals where down year over year.  Reeses where again the most popular with some new first timers with the jolly rancher candy... Henry was a transformer of sorts.. Sophie mixed it up as a kitty , then butterfly then angry kitty.. Willa a cupcake...

The end of month brought my surgery for Heart repair at Mass General.. more on this next month...

2012 Aug -Sep Farm Activities

The summer has passed and we regrettfully find ourselves in Fall  Although Falll is beautifull in VT this summer was the best. We enjoyed what felt like endless sun and comfortable weather.. The land of fruits and vegatables gave us some bounty of tomatoes, cucumbers, basil (we made pesto) and some herbs for a spice here and a spice there.  August was fun with a trip to Santa's village for a quick weekend away at this great spot in Jeffersonville NH.. The kids loved it..Sophie was just tall enough for the best rides... Labor day brought our annual visit to Betsy's in Peterborough and we enjoyed our family time.. Our highlight for the farm was a late summer backyard campout. This year we had over 15 adults and 17 children !!! The kids outnumbered us. This year andrew slept outside (well sort of) with Henry and sophie in a two person tent . It was  a bit tight with 20 or so stuffed animals which made it in with us..
September was the start of school and Henry and Sophie jumped right now. Sophie is in her 2nd year of pre school and Henry is now in 1st grade.. He isdoing great and has been very active with sports including both Soccer and Golf. He now hits it 90 yards after a golf camp with the ulimate "golf" school. Sophie has started pre ballet and is enjoying some new moves. We have nightly dance parties now.. I have sharpened some of my signature moves as well. We had a great visit from Uncle Bob and Brother mark to see chrstopher at Middlebury . I also got out to see VT own rock star Grace Potter I was able to finish the porch and have also fixed up the upstairs of the barn to include Lights and a ping pong table. (Also to be used for beer pong)
That's it for now ...

2012 July Farm Activities

Summer is half way over... but so much has happened...July was full of fun...
We started it with the July 4th parade and Aimee pulled out a big one by organizing, making and participating for Hinesburg's 250th anniversary.. The cake float was great...

We then headed out to Long Island for our visit to the Island. We had some visitors with the Whalen's comgin out for two days of food and beach
We made great sand castles  collected shells and Aimee had the craft of plaster paris with shells made of the kids feat and hands...

Henry I also hit the par 3 a couple of times to get him the feel for a course.. He is getting good.

The house had some major ... let me say this again .. major changes.
Andrew built the kids a Zipline along with a start of a tree fort. (very cool)  We also had the front porch rebuilt so that it won't fall down further. (it was down 9 inches) Its not done yet but will be soon (famous last words)

Henry also had summer soccer camp and Sophie did her circus camp at HNS
The kids loved it and are so tan we bearly recognize them.. Its been a beautifull summer in VT. Come visit before it ends..

ON memorial day I took the kids for a 3 day trip to boston and peterborough nh while Aimee had a 40th birthday to New Orleans. . In NH we celebrated Andy's 50th birthday with a great party.  At the home front we cohosted a great Indian Dinner with our friends the Hoopes and some of our friends..  We also had a trip to Boston for a wedding for my old friend John Beardsley. 2012 Spring Farm Activities

The spring has arrived and am sorry to say my posts have been lagging. In fact its been over 2 months... I guess I have writer's block for the blog... dissapointing as it might be I can give a couple of updates ...

Ski season ended with a trip to Killington with NY friends  Jackie and Chris and my vt friend Kevin.. with the help of Jackie and an Apple app we tracked how long we skied. amazingly it was over 12,000 vertical and a top speed of 35 mph.. who would have guessed. Chris had us all over the mountain. Henry finished his season on his birthday and then had a great 6th birthday with his friends at Bolton bouncy and Aimee was up to her old tricks with a "Angry Bird " Cake... .. Its hard to believe he is 6 and we are enjoying watch him grow up and look forward to every question he has (well maybe not some ) BTW if you've got any tricks to deter a 6 year old from ipad games... send them my way...

The end of march also had a trip to MA to celebrate Betsy's birthday and some fun times with Amma
April was busy as we headed to Peterborough for Easter at Betsy's in Peterborogh .. We enjoyed a great meal with the entire family along with a celebration for Willa's 2nd birthday aong with Aimee's latest "Winnie the Pooh " cake ..

Later in April Aimee headed to Portsmouth NH with her old college friends for a "girls weekend" .. From what I am told the "old" gals behaved themselves as there was no sign of police activity ... Phew... those Holy cross girls can get crazy.

Andrew spent some time in Andover with Amaa and celebrated her birthday along with Betsy and Mark... We upgraded amma's tv to a modern flat screen... .Amma now can get her favorit CSI in HD anytime!

Andrew's work has been very busy with trips to FL ,MD,Indiana,Boston (2) and Utah..... I am finally starting to understand why these people who travel for a living care about their frequent flyer status...

May brought the arrival of the HIldabrands for a week . They had a great time with the kids and we enjoyed mother's day together.
My golf game has gotten off to a good start with over 4 rounds in... Old age hasn't caught up yet as I had some great rounds with friends at Vermont national..

On the house.. we are finally finishing the "land of fruits and vegatbles " as "regrading III" occured and I replanted the apple trees for the 3RD TIME
We also added a new farm toy for the kids...The arrival of a John Deere kids gator has been great fun but also a source of some discussion regarding who rides with who ... ah  what fun

Hope all is well with you ...

2012 Febuary Farm Activities

Well what to say Febuary was a  "white-out" litterally there was no white stuff at all.. what a mixed up year... We hoped to ski every weekend but it was hit or miss. None the less Henry did great with what we had and the family did manage to enjoy some good skiing at the end of the month.  In fact for VT feb vacation we had some of the best skiing of the year.We where joined this year by brother mark , alyssa and pang for a weekend in late febuary followed by a day of skiing with Betsy Andrew and Cousins Charlotte and Nathaniel at Stowe .. We skied both days in powder.. who says spending time wiht family can't be fun... We also had a family learn to ski day with Aimee, Sophie in a private lessons. Sophie's experience was not so hot as she ended barreling into an unsuspecting skier once dad "set her free" at the end of a run.. I hope I haven't ruined her for life....
Andrew did some traveling on a boondoggle to vegas for the Health care it show HIMSS ... over 35K attendees it was an experience.. and for the ulitmate you tube experience check out my presentation .. try not to laugh.... . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0R_5MZez8M

I love to wash my hair.... Willa Frost

2012 January Farm Activities

Welcome to 2012.. the frost's are doing well in our first month of the year.. the absence of snow and warm temperatures  haven't  cooled us off . January was a month of celebration as we threw a surprise (yes she was surprised) birthday for Aimee's 40th at a local mexican restaurant. The "mad" taco herself partied like she was 20 years younger. We also celebrated Sophie's 4th birthday at a local gymnastics gym Aimee's super party skills where at it with this year's  Unicorn Cake.. Sophie enjoyed herself and showed off her best jumps and rolls.. She is getting so big and appears to have the "brains" in the family... :) .. Sophie also got out on the slopes for the first time trying to master the might mite at bolton... Andrew was the pats # one fan this year getting to go to Pat's playoff game with bro in law big a. then I  traveled to rochester mn for work on of all days the super bowl only to see the pats loose with a bunch of Giant drunks in an irish bar... Oh the horror!!!!
Henry and I focused on basketball and skiing in january . Henry is pining for black diamonds constantly.. not sure what this means...
Enjoy the rest of winter....
